[lead poisoning]

StuG again

I just converted an resin Warlord Games 1/56 StuG III G to a late version Finnish Sturmi.
The new plastic version is probably an better starting point but it turned out ok. I basically used the same method as for my 1/100 version but with some added details.
I’ll just add some pictures, hopefully they are self-explanatory.

Hopefully I’ll get around to paint it up soon.

Cobwebs and dust…

Hello anybody here?

Where did all this dust come from?…

Well, let’s see if I can start posting again, I won’t promise any regular posts but I’ll se if I can post a review or two on resent purchases and stuff at least.

Because as usual I’ve been side-tracked, this time by a certain Winter War Kickstarter that is adding on to my unpainted lead-pile.

Hopefully I can find some opponents for Chain of Command or Bolt Action, but in the mean time I will collect and hopefully paint some 28mm for a change, of course there are millions of unfinished 15mm projects that hopefully can get some attention too.

A long, long time ago…

…since I posted on my blog, apologies for that, but sometimes life get in the way. Hopefully I’ll be able to post a bit more regularly now.

As always I have a lot of unfinished projects to share, the most current is the Soviet Engineer sappers I’m waiting on to arrive.

Since I’m very much into on the visual aspect of  building armies and like to fiddle around, my plan is to mate some Battlefront Engineer-Sappers with the Plastic Soldier Company  Soviet Heavy Weapons box to have HMG and Mortar crews with body armour. This is probably not historically accurate but I want them to blend in visually.
Hopefully I’ll be able to pull it off, but right now I’m still waiting for my toys.

Charles Trangs upcoming Wiking books

Speaking of waiting, I’m very eagerly awaiting on the upcoming  3-part book series on the 5th SS Wiking division from Editions Heimdal written by Charles Trang. I’ll have to be patient until December 2015 for the complete series though, since they will be released annually starting with part one in December 2013…
But at least Santa knows what to bring for Christmas the next couple of years.

More War-reels

682eb2ba27Part two in the Continuation War Newsreel collection has now been released, Jatkosodan katsaukset 2 – Kamerat asemissa (“Cameras in defensive positions”).

I’ll get back as soon as I can get my hands on a copy, but in short, it’s 12 hours of more wartime footage, from 1942-1944 (so, maybe some Sturmis…).

See for more info (in Finnish):

There is also another collection of Winter War newsreels, “Talvisodan katsaukset” released in 2007 (2 discs).
